An Uneventful Double Stack tourney on FullTilt where I just didn't get enough decent playable hands.
Can only bluff so often.
I'm getting short on chips and see what I need to see - a pocket pair - 10's again just like yesterday so it's go time.
Full Tilt Poker Game #5229965923: Double Stack $5 + $0.50 (39644979), Table 48 - 120/240 Ante 25 - No Limit Hold'em - 18:08:20 ET - 2008/02/12

I would have preferred to go all-in without a previous raise but I'm shortstacked and am hoping it's a coin flip situation because I figure to be called.
MarkGreb raises to 2,015, and is all in
OneFishAtATIME folds
smartrader folds
Rommax calls 1,535
MarkGreb shows [Td Tc]
Rommax shows [Ah Kh]
As I hoped , it's a coin flip with me a slight favorite.
*** FLOP *** [5c 8d 3s]
So far ,so good.
*** TURN *** [5c 8d 3s] [2h]
Uh, oh. Now I have to dodge a Ace, King, or 4
*** RIVER *** [5c 8d 3s 2h] [4d]
Poker can be so cruel.
MarkGreb shows a pair of Tens
Rommax shows a straight, Five high
Rommax wins the pot (4,615) with a straight, Five high

With some better cards earlier in the tournament I might not have been committed here.

Ouchie. Man that looked familiar. Condolences and congrats.
Hey, you wanna see a real sick blogger series that starts Sunday at Full Tilt and ends with 7 WSOP seats as prizes? Check out SirAlCantHang's blog, a link on my blog. You should play a few of the events. I'll probably need to trade you or penn for 100 at Full Tilt next month... Stay well!
That freakin' sucks Greb.
I have a problem getting too short stacked at the end of tourneys. I just keep holding out for the right situation. I try not to play tourneys because I personally never cash. Don't believe me, check my stats on officalpokerrankings.com. So take my comment with a huge grain of salt.
Sadly even if you had more chips, with the blind level and antes, and AK, he ws going to call anyways. Plus he had you well covered. Total bad luck, but I think you have to make a move sooner, although i didn't see you card dead in prior minutes like I'm sure you were.
He was getting 2 to 1 on his call with AK against a shortie's range of hands; that's a no-brainer for him. But even if he knew your exact hand he still had the odds to call after a MP raise with JTs.
I know none of this matters because we all push with tens here. All i'm saying is that he was also committed here with any hand that he would have raised with, so we both need to find a spot earlier and go for the double-up before they can't fold.
GL Greb. And I know you already know all this; just running my mouth.
Good afternoon
